Whenever we do a Google search, Google lists the number of results on top of the page. The following picture shows the results being displayed on the top.
Report suggest that Google might have tested on removing these number of results that show every time one does a Google search. The reason behind why Google might be thinking of removing these results are not clear, but Google reports that these search results are not accurate numbers. Though that might not be the exact reason behind its idea of removing the number of results showing up,
it’s a fact that Google keeps working on different typing of interfaces every once in a while in order to improve the overall user experience.
One could probably expect some changes on the interface sooner. One disadvantage could be at times when you search a particular website for the number of pages it has using the “site:” command. This has remained an easy way to quickly identify the number of pages on a particular website. It is not clear if this command showing up page results will also be affected in case Google comes up with the change of removing the search results from its interface.
One can assume that the search results that show up when using “site:” will not be removed as its specific to that particular function. We might have to wait a while to check if Google goes ahead with this particular update and if other functions are affected due to the change.
