Verizon Enters Search Business After Buying Yahoo

The latest buzz around is the buying of Yahoo by Verizon. Verizon has recently purchased Yahoo in an estimated $5 billion deal. The deal is understood to not include Alibaba shares and other assets. With this massive deal Verizon enters the world of the highly competitive search business.

Earlier Verizon had also bought AOL one of the largest search engine providers and with the acquisition of Yahoo one can expect the merger of both company’s assets and infrastructure.

It is worth noting that Verizon is already responsible for displays found in Microsoft and several ads found in the US and other markets. Yahoo also has important search deals with Yahoo and Google and also has a deal in place with Gemini for mobile search.

Yahoo has been the leading company dealing with Internet in US behind Google and Facebook. Verizon who are already one of the biggest wireless service provider and ISP will definitely be judged as a massive competitor in digital marketing and online advertising with this acquisition. Since they are already a leading wireless carrier one can expect them to make great inroads in mobile internet marketing and advertising.

With the merging of Yahoo and AOL it will become one of the largest global brands with extensive distribution capabilities. It is estimated around that this merger will have around 25 different products under it and with large scale of presence of Yahoo as a leading content brand in the fields of new, finance and so on not to forget its huge presence as an email provider one can expect Verizon to become a leading player particularly in the field of mobile search business which is expected to boom in the near future.
