Yes, this is shocking but true. The acclaimed statistics portal Statista, gathered this mind boggling data from Google Ad Planner, Compete and comScore, when researching on the usage of social network sites in the United States.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/blog\/social-media\/tips-for-using-facebook-to-promote-your-brand\/\">Facebook<\/a> tops the list of the most visited social websites, followed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/blog\/social-media\/twitter-to-remove-hashbang-urls-replace-with-pushstate\/\">Twitter<\/a>,<b> Tumblr<b>,<\/b> Pinterest<\/b> and<b> LinkedIn.<\/b> Here is an interesting table on social networks that shows the number of unique visitors per month and the average monthly use per visitor.<\/p>\n<p>    <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/blog\/images\/facebook.png\" style=\"padding :12px;\" alt=\"facebook\"><\/p>\n<p><b>Facebook<\/b>, being the popular social network site that it is, attracts 167 million unique American visitors per month, who spend an average of 6 hours and 33 minutes going through the news feed and posting status updates. <b>Tumblr<\/b> is the second-most famous social site, among Americans, with its members spending an average of 1 hour and 38 minutes on the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/blog\/about-blogging\/top-5-business-blogging-mistakes\/\"> community blogs.<\/a>  The digital pin-board site is next in line, with users spending an average of 1 hour and 17 minutes per month. Twitter, <b>LinkedIn<\/b> and other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/social-media-strategy.html\"> social networking sites<\/a> are yet to compete with these outstanding user engagement figures.<\/p>\n<p>The relatively new <b>Google+<\/b> and the once famous <b>MySpace <\/b>are both on the same level, with Google +attracting 18 million and <b>MySpace<\/b> attracting 19 million unique American visitors per month. The average American visitor spends a total of 6 minutes on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/blog\/social-media\/the-new-google-social-network-google\/\"> Google+<\/a> and 12 minutes on<b> MySpace.<\/b> The time spent in the US, on Facebook each month, is more than 600 times the time spent on<b> Google+.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This data from Statista along with recent reports on<a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/blog\/social-media\/5-things-you-should-not-do-on-facebook\/\"> Facebook <\/a>users in the US, from Nielsen, show that Americans just can\u2019t get enough of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.adroitte.com\/social-media-optimization.html\"> social networking sites,<\/a> with most of them spending a quarter of their time online.
