Apple, the company that made history with their iPads, is soon to launch the iPad 3 in the US, on March 7, 2012. So will the new iPad 3 have a better processor, a clearer display and even a camera? Here is sneak peak on some of the rumours that has been circulating around the web:
- The Apple iPad 3 will have a new quad-core ARM based processor.
- The iPad 3 may have a Sharp-manufactured 2048 x 1536 retina display and dual LED lightbar, similar to the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S.
- With an iPad case maker in China, starting to sell a cover for a device called ‘iPad 2S’, rumours have spread that the iPad 3 may be actually named as iPad 2S.
- Cnet.com has predicted that the iPad 3 may feature a Qualcomm 4G LTE Gobi 4000 chip.
- An online posting of the supposed casing for the iPad 3, in February, suggests an increase in the battery and graphics power of Apple’s new tablet.
- Some websites which have previewed parts of the iPad 3, have indicated that the tablet will still have a 30 pin dock connector, though the packaging may be more streamlined.
- With Apple’s interest in Near Field Communications, rumour has it that the iPad 3 hardware may include an NFC chip, to enable users to use data or settings with a flick of their wrist.
- Rumour mills predict that the iPad 3 may have an increased storage of 128GB, when compared with iPad 2’s 16/32/64GB storage.
- The iPad 3 may include a new Thunderbolt port, like the ones found in the 2011 MacBook Pro and MacBook Air.
- The iPad 3 could be thicker to accommodate its new higher-resolution display.
- Apple fans are hoping that the iPad 3 will include an in-built SD card slot.
- Reports on the net are suggesting the new tablet device will have an 8MP camera and flash
- According to predictions, the iPad 3 may include Kinect-style gesture controls and come encased in lightweight material.
- Speculation across the web suggests that the iPad 3 will be priced at $579, rather than the $499 that users are currently paying for a Wi-Fi-only 16GB iPad 2.
