Google has been using “Rank Brain” a machine learning technology that it had introduced quite some time back. It has been using RankBrain for lesser number of queries last year. But the use of RankBrain for queries has increased significantly and it is now being used on all almost all search queries.
Google feels its one the most effective technology that it has started using it all search queries.
Since RankBrain is a technology that is used to understand the nature of a search query to list the most appropriate results it is also significantly changing the rankings of websites in search results based on the algorithm.
The exact nature of how RankBrain works is not known like all the other previous algorithms and it will remain a mystery but it does look like RankBrain is important next to the content and links in affecting rankings of a website. Although the basis on which RankBrain remains largely unknown it is still clear that great content is always rewared.
As a webmaster if one is going to break their head to understand how RankBrain works it will be a futile attempt but its not a worrying sign as webmasters can still do all the necessary things that needs to be done to make their site useful for search queries and as always good content will play a major role in how RankBrain influences a website rankings.
