Another Google Feature Dropped from its Search Console

Its been that time of the year that a lot of old features or in other words the ones that Google find is irrelevant in the present scenario are being dropped one after the other from its search console. Now Google has gone ahead and dropped the content keywords feature that has been integrated to it search console.

Google content keyword feature used to be the only way that could help webmasters judge what Googlebot used to find when crawling a website. This feature helped webmasters to even judge if the Google was even crawling a particular website or it has been hacked. It also used to show the keywords for which a website was featured and it had some confused with the number of keywords that were usually listed with content keywords.

Although the words in your content or in other words keywords are still important for a page in helping Google determine what type of a page it is crawling it is also equally important to make sure the words are chosen clearly to explain the particular feature of the page and what exactly it means to make sure Google uses that page for that particular query.

The removal of content keyword isn’t the end of the world as webmasters can now use more advanced features like search analytics and fetch to find how Googlebot works along with several other features. It definitely looks like season for changes with Google having dropped sitelinks demotion feature to recently. With New Year fast approaching the older features are getting replaced with newer and more efficient features.
