Apple and Google In the Foreseeable Future

In the recent years many startups have preferred to go mobile first with customers having access to only their apps. Until now these companies who have gone with only apps have missed out on SEO because apps where listed in search index only based on their landing pages. Pages within an app were not visible because Google could not crawl apps. But recent development the whole landscape is about to change dramatically in terms of apps being ranked in Google. Going forward the deep pages in an app will be visible on search results just like the web pages.

The latest Google updates have rendered a lot of SEO tactics used earlier ineffective. But tactics such as writing thousands of articles and creating links on a huge number of websites still remain effective. A lot of new search companies are trying to enter the competition but Google, Yahoo and Bing still remain the most popular search engines. Despite the rise of social media organic traffic is still generated mostly from search engines.

Entering a new era with mobile apps.

Google is working fervently in integrating the search engines with their Android platform. They have introduced quite a few changes with app indexing, deep linking and Google Now On Tap. The major significance of these changes is that the users will now be able to find apps through Google search. Apple have also announced the launch of their own search engine with iOS 9 and El Captain later in this year.

Apple vs. Google

In the emerging world of SEO, owners of operating system will also own the search experience. Google’s Android operating system will play a major part in increasing the share of search that Google already possess. With a huge number of Apple mobile users, Apple will also become a major player in search engines. Companies like Microsoft who haven’t really lifted off with the Windows mobile devices will find it difficult to compete with the likes of Google and Apple.
