Apple have launched Apple Music, an app with subscription streaming services to iTunes.

The announcement was made at Apple’s annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDA). This comes more than a year after the acquisition of Beats Music, the streaming service founded by Dr. Dre.

The service will include a live “24/7 global radio station” and a social media kind of feature called “Connect” where musicians can directly upload their works and profile.

Apple Music will be available from June 30, at a cost of $9.99 a month for a single subscription or $14.99 a month for a “family” subscription that allows up to 6 people to share an account. It has also been announced that the service would be available in Android phones soon. It is worth noting that iTunes has been available only on Apple devices so far.

With this launch Apple joins a list of other streaming services like Spotify, Pandora and Tidal.
