Now a Phone Which Can Stay Alive in Water!!

The New Waterproof ELUGA Smartphone from Panasonic

The ELUGA is Panasonic’s soon-to-be-released smartphone that is high on style and features. The most outstanding feature is its ability to resist water. Here are some of the phone’s cool features:

Slim & lightweight

Panasonic has taken the word “slim” to a whole new level, by creating a smartphone that has an ultra slim design, ergonomic shape and curved edges. With an ultralight weight of 103 g, this is one phone that you can take with you everywhere, without ever feeling its weight. The ELUGA’s display ratio of 66% makes it the largest display area ratio currently in the smartphone market. When compared to other phones with a similar display size, the ELUGA offers a better resolution, along with a full scale screen.

Stunning picture quality

You would be awed with the crystal clear display of the ELUGA’s quarter high definition (qHD). The 4.3″ (10.9 cm) capacitive OLED qHD display screen along with the slim 123 × 62 × 7.8 mm frame offers an unbelievable resolution of 960 × 540 px. With its high pixel density, you will be unable to spot an individual pixel. The vibrant colors, outstanding sharpness and improved readability will surely take your breath away.

Waterproof & Dustproof

Now with the IP57 approved ELUGA, you will not have to worry about your mobile device taking a tumble into the sink or your device getting dusty, as this phone is both dust and water proof. The ELUGA was tested and found to be without any damage after it was immersed into water at a depth of up to 1.0 metres for 30 minutes.

Eco mode ensures a long battery life

When the power of your battery falls low, the ELUGA will automatically make setting changes, like reducing the display’s timeout and limiting the consumption of the processor. The ELUGA will also turn off certain functions, such as background apps that are not being used.

Near-field communication

With the ELUGA, you can share contacts, links, pictures, directions or apps with other NFC-enabled Android phones. Whether it is starting workflows or using contactless infrastructure in public transportation or ticketing apps, the open standard NFC has made the ELUGA a future-ready smartphone. You can also easily unlock your phone, start applications and change the style or profile in a matter of seconds with NFC cards or tags.

The ELUGA is set for an April 2012 release and will be available in classic black and silver.
